Roger Goodell getting Soft?
I was totally amazed by the reaction, or the lack there of, from the NFL in the cases of two players that have had there fair share of negative press in the past. Vince Young and Mike Vick are no strangers to answering uncomfortable questions- and its looks like they will get a free pass on what could be a career ender for Vick and a critical turn for the worse for Young.
After a shooting at his birthday party Vick was caught lying and STILL did not have to pay a price- virtually was left completely alone. Im not convinced that Vick has really learned his lesson- but Im also not going to say that I think he should have been punished.
But Goodell has already made a name for being tough on his players- wanting to clean up the NFL's current image.
I can only suspect that the NFL's commish is more worried about ADDING money- ummm, I mean GAMES to the already grueling NFL season. I mean, he already suspended Vick for 6 extra games AFTER he served 2 YEARS IN PRISON!
So now its cool to get into shoving matches and try to beat up Strip Club patrons?
I dont know- maybe this is a sign of things to come- and maybe there are things that are going on behind closed doors that have caused Goodell to "seem" a little softer.
